I'm based in Nelson, New Zealand, having previously worked out of Edinburgh, Scotland. For more than 20 years I've worked across the technology stack:

• Integrated circuit design: from simulating analog blocks to managing entire system-on-chip developments, from image sensors to power-line networking chips.
• Electronic hardware: analog and digital design for audio, camera, cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth products.
• Embedded and RF systems: embedded Linux, low-power wireless, software-defined radio, and cellular and satellite communications.
• Test automation: automated test systems for complex products, from development regression to production.
• Software and data: mobile and desktop applications, data analysis and machine learning, and devops.
• Product design: 3D modelling and CAD, materials, prototyping and manufacture.

Recent work has been in aviation, marine and mission-critical communications, where devices have to keep working in difficult conditions.

I've worked at every level, from junior engineer to board member. I've been with start-ups from day one and run large technical teams for Fortune 500 companies. I've been in the lab at 2 a.m. debugging esoteric problems, presented investor pitches, and guided teams through ISO quality certification.

I'm addicted to building things, and I get my satisfaction from taking something from concept to excellence.
